It's getting cold out, and consequently I have been looking at a lot of boots lately. These bad boys are the Yuketen Maine Guide boots. Yuketen boots are hand made in the USA, which might explain for the hefty price tag of $506 dollars. The company has been making boots since 1985, and have a pretty strong following. Out of all of their models i like the Maine Guide boot the best. If I were to purchase them I would go for the crepe sole (not pictured), which is what Clarks uses for their Wallabee's sole.

Well these guys were just banned the from the NBA. Almost a quarter century from when the NBA banned Michael Jordan's first sneaker in 1985. weird shoes

These joints are crazy. I first saw 'em in a Skymall catalog on my way to L.A., and recently I've been seeing them all over the place, even the guy who sold me my MacBook at the Apple store had them on. I actually think these are pretty goofy looking. I'm not trying to have monkey feet, but from a technological standpoint, they're pretty cool. This is what the company had to say on their website: "The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.". I guess if you wanna get the most out of your feet, then these are good bet.

My name is Bee Gats, and I go to school at Columbus State. How does our footwear affect us? Well that's the premise of this blog. I've had a love of sneakers since I was a little kid. I grew up dirt poor, and my shoes were the object of ridicule on more than one occasion. It's hard enough growing up in group homes and orphanages, let alone when you throw in bigger kid's jokes, but what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. So being the inventive type, I came up with various schemes to procure the shoes I wanted, but that is a story for another day. In the world of Nike there isn't much i don't know, not to say I'm an expert, but I've spent a lot of time and money on the subject. I'd like to get my knowledge up on other brands and delve into various stories about shoes from the past. So I'm going to try to do that, and keep it interesting. Enjoy.
